バリデーションとは

品質管理の国際標準であるISO-9000において、バリデーションの定義は以下の通りである。

バリデーションとは、特定の意図した用途またはアプリケーションに関する要求が満たされていることを、客観的な証拠の提示により確認することである。

しかしながら、IT業界では、バリデーションの定義が異なり、ソフトウェアのテストのことを指している。
製薬業界でもそう信じている人が多いと思われる。

ソフトウェアをテストして、バグをつぶしたとしても、それだけではバリデーションしたことにはならないので、注意が必要である。
製薬業界（特にFDA）では、バリデーションとは、ユーザの要件に当該システムを完全に適合させるということである。

すなわち、UATにおいて、ユーザがシステムを新業務プロセスに沿って試用し、当該プロセスが問題なく遂行できることを確認することが最重要となるのである。

品質の良いソフトウェアとは

品質の良いシステム（ソフトウェア）とは、当該コンピュータ化システムが、ユーザの要件を完全に満たすものである。
不具合（バグ）がないことのみではない。
